2D Adventure

A 2D adventure game where you complete quests around a village.

This game is rather simple but that was the point of the project. This was my first time tackling a quest system which is updated live when the player completes tasks. This was also a very art heavy game in which I used tiles in order to create the environments.


Another core part of the gameplay is dialogue in which the player interacts with different NPC's in order to get quests and complete them. Learning to make impactful dialogue which enables the player to explore was the aim of this. Most games have quests where players are able to skip through all of it and are still able to see quest objectives on the mini map. Our game enables more adventurous players to read a short piece of text which give clues as to the quests whereabouts and their objective in that area. Enabling players to freely explore and progress at their own pace whilst still giving enough information to not leave players clueless.


It was quite refreshing to make a simple point and click adventure game like this without the need for intense mechanics that rely on player skill but rather focusing on sound, feel, UI and UX as well as the environment. Simply put it was fun to make back in 2022.
